Celebration of Life DVDs Forever Preserve Memories

The Celebration of Life program allows anyone with old photos, home videos, and other memorabilia such as diplomas and awards to have them preserved on a DVD - the same DVD disc format one can rent or buy to play on their home DVD player.

The process of gathering family photos and videos is very simple once you get started. Scaffede adds, “Many people put it in the back of their minds, since no immediate risk of loss is evident. But we have found that once a customer starts to gather their family materials, they are ready to go in no time.”

When Digital Transfer receives materials, their expert staff begin to carefully capture video and scan photos. Once this process is complete, everything has been digitized. And as long as it’s digitized, it’s almost eternal since duplicating a digital file doesn’t have the generational loss of quality that plagues VHS and other analog media.

The photos are scanned and placed in a basic chronological order, so that when the DVD is played the viewer can see one photo after another in an elegant slideshow, set to music if desired. The DVD can be paused during slideshow playback for longer viewing of an individual photo, if desired.

A single DVD can contain hundreds of photos or up to two hours of video. Imagine compiling multiple photo albums and several home videos onto a single DVD that can be easily stored and duplicated to share with the whole family.
